Landslide Lake Interpretive Fire Trail (E2-8)

Site Details

This site is approximately 170 km W of Rocky Mountain House, and within the 5,700 hectare 2009 Upper North Saskatchewan Prescribed Burn. The Interpretive Trail teaches people about fire ecology and the role of fire in forest management. The trail consists of two loops: the Short Loop is an easy 400 m walk through aspen forest, and the Long Loop is a 2 km walk through more hilly areas of the burn. Interpretive signs are found along the trail, and a brochure can be picked up on site and from AEP, Parks Canada and ACA offices. Wildlife in the area includes elk, bear, sheep, deer and woodpeckers.
