Whitford Lake (D3-82)

Site Details

This 738-acre site is E of Andrew. Quarter section NE 10 is SW of the intersection between Twp Rd 562 and RR 162. Take RR 162 N to reach the quarter sections NW/NE 14 and SW/SE 23 on Whitford Lake. Whitford Lake is a good example of a shallow lake system that provides open water for waterfowl in wet years and ground-nesting opportunities for songbirds and marsh birds in dry years. Located 1.6 km E of the Whitford Lake quarters are SW/SE 18 which are on the N end of what is known as Whitford Rush. This wetland is mostly dry during dry years but fills up with water in wet years, providing additional waterfowl habitat.
